| 24/01/06 Jivemaster² coming soon... |
A big hi to all of those who visit the site, and my apologies for my extended absence. As you may have found out already yourself, updates have been scarce over the last few months, but for good reason. Apart from a much deserved rest after an immensely troublesome final university year, I have been working towards a new and improved version of the Jivemaster.com site which is being built upon a Limbo server base. It took me around a week to get to grips with the CMS package as well as the finer points of CSS, but I'm fairly confident now that the site is (almost) good enough for a public release. A few minor things to iron out on the custom template, but otherwise, everything is going and looking well and should be ready for public release in the next week or so.
For those who are interested, the new site will (naturally) replace the old, however this version of the site will be kept for historical and informative purposes. Upon finalisation of the new site, a re-design of the MNZ mini-site will be in the works, but will not be as drastic as the new JM design.
The reason for the new site is for a few reasons. Primarily, the re-design will make it easier for me to update the site. Not that I update much anyway, but I'm hoping that by making it easier to update, I will make more regular contributions to the site. The other main reason is that I want the site to be more compatible with Firefox and IE - which at the moment is a little broken due to some problems with my code. I feel the new site is needed for these reasons, especially since I have a few new projects coming up and a new site design is needed to showcase these.
This will probably be the last post until the new site eventuates, so I'd like to say thanks for visiting Jivemaster.com and being a part of my work and life, and I hope that you all share my enthusiasm with the site redevelopment as much as I do. See you all soon and farewell Jivemaster.com version 1.0. {sniff} |

Updates pending. |
|
It's
been 3 months since I updated. Absolutely shocking.
Ok, lets go through what's been happening.
In
case you missed it, my new mix Lava
Reach has been posted at OCR. In
conjuction with the mix's release, I was also featured
on the official OCR podcast VGDJ
number 9, which is hosted by Rayza and Aurora.
Now that it's out of the way, I'm planning on readying
up the rest of the MNZ
songs for their release, because I believe that
they have been withheld from everyone for long enough
(and besides, I need to get my money's worth from my
webspace).
The
next project? Well apart from working on some new original
music, I'm part of a few projects that need my attention.
I was part of the Sonic 3 & Knuckles arrangement
project at OCR doing a mix of Death Egg with Snappleman,
but I haven't heard anything from him and it appears
that the track is now
locked and being done by
some different artists. A bit strange considering I've
heard nothing about this, but not a big deal really
- I'm going to continue the mix anyway - it should turn
out to be the best Death Egg offering by far.
Speaking
of OCR projects, I'm also working on a title screen
mix for Shael's SF2
arrangement project, which really needs some attention.
This will be the next thing on the to-do list.
Keep
visiting for more info soon. Jive out.

MNZ continues to rock the house. |
|
Another
month, another update. Get excited because 3 more MNZ
songs are here for your listening pleasure. "Mad
Jap Atomic" is about your friendly neighbourhood
Japanese super-hero, "For The Hate Of Mankind"
sonically simulates one's amounting feelings of disgust
for the human race and "The Love" explains
the problems with peoples' relationships (in a way all
can understand ;)). All attainable from the usual place.

More Melicious... |
|
Yet
again the MNZ site
sees another update. 3 more songs now up. "Its
Like That" is a 80's style hip-hop song resembling
stuff from Run DMC (when done by an aussie white guy),
"I Like My Metal Softcore" is a rock song
about how hardcore-metal-dicks only listen to their
choice in music because they think it makes them tough,
and finally "All My Friends" discusses the
important issues surrounding friendship and the (total
lack of) need for it.

Well then again... |
|
Because
I've been real bored, I've been screwing around with
some cgi scripts and decided to implement a blog.
Now the agoninising pain that I experience every day
living around the rest of the people situated on this
death forsaken planet is documented on a day by day
basis (or when I feel like it anyway...). Behold - Ramblings
by Jive.
Also,
for the dedicated few of you who ocassionally visit
the site, I can confirm that I am working on another
Sonic remix for OverClocked. Yes you read correctly.
Not giving much away, except that it has been requested
a tad in the past. Oh, and it's from a Megadrive/Genesis
game...

MELICIOUS NEO ZEED - NOW ONLINE... |
|
The
MNZ
website is now up for your viewing pleasure, along
with 3 songs from the first album - Crazymonkey Runaway
Spacetrain. The first, "Mic Cheque MCs" is
a mix of electronic grunge and rock coupled with hip-hop
vocals. The second, "1012kb" is a mix of synth-punk
rock, while the last "Candy Girl" is a fiesty
pop song about sluts. Enjoy. More to come soon...

Welcome back to Jivemaster.com... upgraded! |
|
Hello
loyal vistors and welcome to the new year! Just when
you thought the site was doomed for failure, the silence
is broken again with another update! This one is a bit
more meaningful though. Firstly, we now have our
own proper webspace, and as a result, we also have our
own... (wait for it)... forum! Egads! Are
you serious Jivemaster? Hell no, but we're insane enough
to get things done. And this is just the beginning -
soon we will be uploading the long awaited Melicious
Neo Zeed tracks for all of you to get your hands
on. We've just got a few last minute adjustments and
then they're up. We are quite excited with these new
advancements and we hope you guys are too.
Anyway,
here's the links to all the new stuff:
Jivemaster.com
forums (still WIP)

Well then again... |
|
Oh
my god! Another update within a month!! Good heavens!
Well thanks to university almost being finished for
the year (bar one exam), its back on the music making
train... or something. These eventful holidays have
already brought about 1 new track - a golden oldie -
"I Like My Metal Softcore", in all its noise-rock
goodness. More to come while I find a home to put this
stuff...

Well then... |
|
Hi
all. In a strange twist of fate, I can happily report
the music is coming along nicely. No, I haven't yet
added the long awaited turntable shit, however, several
new songs have been recorded, which I have decided will
go onto the current CD, making the total track count
13. At around 38mins, this album should be a decent
showcase of some of my older and newer stuff to date.
I've been wanting to do more and more on it, but I'm
going to have to stop sometime - just can't say when.
I've also yet to decide how I am going to distribute
the music, since mp3.com.au
isn't the greatest place for music. We'll see.

Yes I'm still alive... kinda... |
|
No
updates have been done for the last 1/4 of the year
due to me being sick on and off. With health on the
blink, little is getting done on the music projects
which I have wanted to get finished recently (like minor
DJ work to be done on the CD). Don't know when I'll
get the chance to get this stuff done. Hopefully soon
though - I really want to get this crap finished so
I can move forward and make some entirely fresh stuff.
Also,
it seems that Netscape is having troubles with the site's
layout... not sure of the prob... not sure if I could
be bothered fixing at the moment either.

Jivemaster.com and MNZ Album update |
|
As
you may not know, MNZ are releasing their first album
soon online, and possibly in physical format in the
future. Final touches are being made so it will be a
while yet,
but I'm aiming for the middle of the year.
Expect more updates soon when I'm not ill / slack.
In
regards to the site itself, some small site updates
have been made, added Thanks page, removed Graphics
link for now, and made some other tweaks here and there.
